# ICMS

We replaced iPages, Gryphtech’s legacy CMS, with iCMS, a new platform built to manage websites for real estate brands around the world. We rebuilt the CMS on new infrastructure, then manually rebuilt and migrated more than 30 client websites onto it across different brands, languages, and markets.

RE/MAX Brazil’s old landing page, the original iPages CMS, the rebuilt iCMS experience, and a few page examples from the new site.

iPages had become dated and difficult to maintain, so rather than continue updating the existing system, we rebuilt it as iCMS on a new platform and infrastructure.

As the lead designer and front-end developer, I worked alongside Product, Engineering, and QA throughout the year-long project. I learned the existing system, designed the new CMS in Figma, and built the front end in React using Material UI.

The biggest challenge was moving more than 30 existing client websites onto the new platform. Each site had to be manually rebuilt in iCMS, including its pages, layouts, and content, while still maintaining each brand’s identity.

Many sites also supported multiple languages, which multiplied the amount of migration work. RE/MAX Thailand, for example, had three, meaning the same site had to be rebuilt and checked across each language. With more than 30 sites across different markets, keeping all of those pages, layouts, and content consistent became a major part of the rollout.

Throughout the project, we ran user testing, worked through feedback, and continued improving the CMS while the website migrations were underway.

After roughly a year, iCMS and the rebuilt websites were rolled out across brands including RE/MAX, Keller Williams, eXp Realty, Coldwell Banker, and Century 21.
