Spot Swap started as a college UI/UX project focused on the challenges students faced finding parking on campus. I designed a mobile app that used real-time parking data from campus cameras and IoT devices to show students where spots were available, while giving schools a better way to understand parking demand, traffic, and how their lots were being used.

Splash screen, an example user flow, monochromatic wireframes, high-fidelity onboarding mockups, and the interactive prototype in Figma.

Spot Swap was my first opportunity to take a product idea through the full UI/UX design process. I started by researching the parking problems students faced on campus, looking at existing solutions, defining users, and exploring how real-time parking data could make finding a spot easier.

The concept relied on cameras and IoT devices installed across campus parking lots to detect which spaces were available. That data would power the student-facing app, showing available parking on a live map and helping students get to the right lot instead of driving around looking for a spot. On the campus side, the same system could provide better information about parking demand, traffic, maintenance, and how lots were being used.

I mapped out the experience, created user flows, sketched ideas, built low-fidelity wireframes, and eventually moved the full product into Figma for visual design and prototyping.

I continued exploring Spot Swap as a passion project after school. It never became a real product, but it ended up shaping my career. It was the project where I learned Figma, fell in love with UI/UX, and realized I wanted to design digital products.
